Most candidates for citizenship in Canada must

  • hold a fixed place of residence

  • possess at least 3,095 days (1,095 days) of residency in Canada.

  • have submitted their taxes, if necessary

  • ace the citizenship exam

  • demonstrate their command of the English or French language

  • take a citizenship oath.
