Canada's province of Newfoundland and Labrador administers the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee scheme (NLPNP), a separate immigration scheme. The goal of this program is to draw foreign graduates, entrepreneurs, and skilled laborers who wish to relocate to Newfoundland and Labrador.
The NLPNP offered multiple streams or categories through which people could submit an application for nomination as of my most recent information update in September 2021:
Express Entry Skilled Worker: For skilled workers with a valid Express Entry profile, this stream is in line with the federal Express Entry system. Eligibility requires that candidates obtain a job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador firm.
Category of Skilled Worker: This stream is intended for people who have received a job offer in a skilled occupation from a business in Newfoundland and Labrador. Those having the training and experience required to satisfy the needs of the labor market in the province are the target audience.
International Graduate Category: Students from outside Newfoundland and Labrador who have completed their studies at an accredited post-secondary school are eligible to apply for this category. Candidates must possess a job offer in their field of study or in a skilled occupation.
Entrepreneur Category: This stream is intended for people who wish to buy or launch a company in Newfoundland and Labrador. A minimum net worth, a specific level of investment in the business, and the creation of job opportunities for locals are requirements for eligibility.
Under this category, international graduates of post-secondary education institutions in Newfoundland and Labrador who wish to launch or acquire a business in the province are specifically welcome.
