International students have a number of options in Canada for transferring from study to permanent residency. Listed below are a few important choices:

1. Permit to Work After Graduation (PGWP):

A PGWP can be applied for by students who have finished their studies at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI). Their ability to obtain Canadian job experience through this open work permit is a vital step towards obtaining permanent status.

2. Experience Canada Class (CEC):

Students who complete the PGWP and obtain Canadian work experience may be eligible for the CEC through the Express Entry program. This program is intended for people who have assimilated into the labour force in Canada.

3. The PNPs, or Provincial Nominee Programs:

PNPs are available in several provinces and provide preference to foreign graduates with Canadian credentials. An accelerated route to permanent residency is offered by PNPs.

4. Pilot Program for Atlantic Immigration:

Through the AIP, students who have worked in Atlantic Canada on a PGWP are able to apply for permanent residency in the region.

5. Utilizing the Express Entry System

By joining the Express Entry pool, students can increase their chances of being invited to apply for permanent residency by showcasing their education, work experience, and good language abilities.

6. Sponsorship by family:

Students who have family members who are permanent residents or citizens of Canada may consider family sponsorship as a means of obtaining permanent status.

These routes acknowledge the importance of foreign students and give them the opportunity to develop their life in this hospitable nation while also contributing to Canadian society and the economy.
