One of the provinces in Canada is Prince Edward Island (PEI), and it offers immigration schemes to entice people who want to come and reside there. The provincial immigration scheme is called the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee scheme (PEI PNP), and it offers multiple streams to meet different candidate groups. Here are some of the main immigration streams within the PEI PNP as of September 2021, when I last updated my knowledge:
Express Entry Stream: This stream is connected to the federal Express Entry system, which oversees applications for permanent residency under the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program. Your chances of being invited to apply for permanent residency can be greatly increased if PEI nominates you and you have a valid Express Entry profile and match their requirements.
Labour Impact Category:
Those who meet the qualifying standards and have a legitimate job offer from a PEI firm are eligible to apply for the skilled worker stream.
Critical worker stream: This stream, which is for people having a legitimate employment offer in a semi-skilled or unskilled occupation in Prince Edward Island, is similar to the skilled worker stream.
International Graduate Stream: This stream is intended for recent PEI institution graduates who have a job offer in their subject area of study.
Business Impact Category:
Foreign business owners who want to invest in and operate a business on Prince Edward Island may apply through the work permit stream. Those who are accepted usually obtain a work permit initially, with the possibility of obtaining permanent status afterwards.
Business Impact Category (100% Ownership Stream): Those who want to launch a new business or buy an existing PEI company and own 100% of it fall under this category. Permanent residency is the result.
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIP) is a federal immigration initiative that PEI takes part in. Its goal is to fill labor market shortfalls in Atlantic Canada. A legitimate employment offer from a designated PEI employer is required in order to apply through AIP.
